There are 11 Powers in Elite Dangerous, the 10 original Powers plus Yuri Grom who was added later as part of the Dangerous Games event. Player Groups and Squadrons looking to create a Player Minor Faction should check on the respective Power information page here to make sure they are selecting the correct type of government. This is because only the type of government benefits or hurts a Power and not its Superpower affiliation. The Superpower allegiance of the controlling Minor Faction or Player Minor Faction of a system is irrelevant. Of Superpowers, Powers, & Player Minor Factions In Powerplay the territory of the Alliance, the Empire, & the Federation is represented by their Control Systems as shown on the Galaxy Map Powerplay Tab. They can be joined via the information on each Power’s wiki page. Each Powerplay Group has its own organisation structure, culture and means of communication. The galactic aspirations and strategies of Powers are guided by Powerplay Groups made up of Player Groups, Squadrons and individual commanders all pledged to push their Power’s agenda forward. These spheres can be controlled and fought over by Powers and through them also a Superpower with the Alliance being represented by Edmund Mahon, the Federation by Federal United Command and the Empire by the Imperial High Council. 1/10The galaxy is divided in territorial spheres, some rich, some poor and some burdensome.
